Vancouver & Island
Ski Holidays
Not many cities
can boast about their mountains. From many city vantage
points you can gaze out at three giant Vancouver
landmarks:Cypress, Grouse, and Seymour. All three mountains
are easily accessible and offer winter activities for
virtually anyone. But don’t
forget there is so much more in Vancouver, enjoy world-class
entertainment, fantastic cuisine, historical sites and
some of the finest and most eclectic shopping around.
Have the time of your life in a city that has it all!
GROUSE
MOUNTAIN
Is a must for seasonal good times— board
the air tram and climb 3700 feet. Come winter, this is
a magnet for skiers, snowboarders, ice skaters, snow-shoers,
and for those who like to sit back and enjoy a sleigh
ride. Night skiing above the city lights is memorable
and highly recommended.
CYPRESS
MOUNTAIN
is an easy to reach get-away. You can leave Vancouver
city centre and be on your skis within half an hour.
Vast
variety
of downhill choices await for you. Whether you like groomed
runs or between the trees, you’ll be spoiled for
choice both day and night. A wonderful option is the
nighttime chocolate fondue tour, an interpretive snowshoe
walk, complete with candlelight and decadent chocolate
fondue.
MOUNT
WASHINGTON
Located on Vancouver Island, Mount Washington features
a 300 m natural luge track that will thrill and excite.
If you’re a cross country skiing fan this is
the place to be with 55 km of track located in Strathcona
Provincial Park. In addition another 20 km of trails
are dedicated to snowshoeing.
