- How do I find my
clients?
Everyone you know or meet is a potential client. Start with
your family, friends, local organisations, sporting groups, business
associates, neighbours, and clubs (such as photography clubs, natural history
clubs, archaeological interest groups, etc.)
- How do I book my
clients on a tour or villa holiday?
You will book directly through our
toll free call centre where we have qualified, professional, and experienced
travel consultants. If you would rather have your clients contact us directly,
just have them quote your ID number in order to receive your commission.
- How do I access
information?
We will provide you with printed catalogues and other
promotional materials. Our websites have all of the Adventures Abroad
itineraries and Just Imagine villa properties on-line, and we can set you up
with an FTP account so that you can download our price books, itineraries and
other materials directly to your computer.
- What operating
expenses will I incur?
Very little! We will provide you with business
cards and stationery, and invoices. You can use your existing telephone line
(if you so desire), and work directly off your kitchen table of home office.
Our reservation centres offer toll free lines.
- How long does my
membership last and what is the cost?
Your membership does not expire.
Your membership will be renewed providing you have earned US$150.00 in
commission. The initiation fee is paid only once.
- What is the
money-back guarantee?
If you feel the programme does not meet your
expectations, simply return all materials within 30 days of activation and you
will receive a full refund on the membership fees less the "printed materials"
fee and shipping and handling.
- Can I sign up for a
membership so I can get an IATA/IATAN card?
In order to obtain an
IATA/IATAN card you must prove that you have earned a certain amount in
commissions. Once you have met this quota, you are free to obtain your card.
This regulation is monitored by IATA.
- Do I need a computer
to be an @Home Agent?
Yes. A computer is necessary to access
information and it is considered a necessity.
- Do I need a separate
phone line? What about a fax?
Not necessarily. However, we
recommend that you establish your own line which will help to create your
identity as an @Home Agent. Market testing proves that most people are more
comfortable phoning a dedicated telephone line for business transactions. A fax
is necessary as many of our day-to-day dealings are done by fax.
- Does it matter where
I live?
Some regulations may apply in your area. We don't mind having
agents from outside the US or Canada, but keep in mind that you must comply
with your own country's regulations.
- Do I use your
company name or my own name for my business?
We suggest that you use
the Adventures Abroad and Just Imagine trade names for your business. Your
name, naturally, would be incorporated. You are an independent contractor
affiliated with us, and you have access to our products.
- Do you produce
business cards for me?
Yes. We will provide you with business cards and
stationery.
- Will I require
special software on my computer to book travel?
No. Everything you
require will be available on-line or over the dedicated telephone line.
- How much money can I
expect to make?
There are no guarantees. Some people get involved in
this business to access reduced travel rates; others are professionals who are
involved in the travel business to supplement their income; others yet are
individuals who focus their attention to making their business successful. This
business will give you back what you put in proportionately.
- I've never sold
travel before
is there training to teach me what I need to know?
Our network is designed so that an enterprising self-starter can quickly
learn the ropes and begin making money. We have extensive ongoing training at
our member's website, as well as on-going email training and promotional
materials. The majority of our agents have never sold travel before joining our
team. Our experienced sales staff are happy to assisit you with your questions.
- How can I compete
with the big on-line travel suppliers?
We control our own product by
designing and operating our own tours; our villas are either 100% owned by our
company or under a fair marketing agreement. This will mean our costs are
low.
- No one will travel
now that terrorism is such a threat.
People will always feel the need
to travel, regardless of any threats posed by potential terrorism.
- The overhead is
prohibitive.
This is little overhead expense required to establish
yourself as an independent travel agent.
- No one will want to
use a one-person travel agency.
Traditional travel agencies were
usually "mom and pop" operations, often staffed by one or two people. With the
internet, your one-person agency can look like a huge corporation if you want
it to.
- Will I need to go to
travel school?
There is no training required-we teach you along the way
and make it easy for you.
- I don't have the
time.
Little time is required to be an @Home Agent. Hours will depend
on the amount of clients you wish to deal with; more clients mean increased
revenue.
