Blandy-les-Tours is terrifically well situated for visiting Paris, Disneyland and Fontainebleau. In fact the village itself is much visited because of its impressive fortified pentagonal castle. The château of Vaux-le-Vicomte is just 10 minutes away, and a little further is splendid Fontainebleau with its wonderful forest and château.The area around here is known as the ‘Brie’, home of the cheese, of course, with pleasant countryside dotted with interesting villages. Do not miss a trip east to the superb mediaeval town of Provins, often used as a backdrop in film sets!Blandy itself has the advantage of its own baker and general store, plus a restaurant. This is a marvellous location for an active and interesting family holiday being just 40 km from all the attractions of Paris, and within easy reach of the lovely châteaux of Fontainebleau, Vaux le Vicomte and Versailles. Not to be missed either is the nearby château of Courances, famous for its beautiful water gardens, and the lovely floral park at Courson. Younger folk will enjoy Eurodisney (55 minutes away) and there is a superb olympic-sized swimming pool, complete with tennis court complex just 1.5 km down the road at Mennecy.
