The castle known as “Le Castellas” is situated in the Cévennes National Park 1km from Lasalle which boasts this imposing castle which was built between the 9th and the 17th century. It is classified as a historical monument and has been magnificiently restored after 25 years by its owners. Peaceful position. Beautiful views over the countryside. Situated on a hill (321mt a.s.l.) and dominating the river Salendrinque and the city of Lasalle, Le Castellas is of Carolingien origin and was a regal property and today is part of the historical route from Languedoc to Roussillon. 1ha of beautiful parklands. The second and top floor of the castle has been transformed into 2 beautiful and bright apartments which take their light from large glass paned windows and they are furnished with beautiful antique pieces. There is a washing machine on the gr. fl. Parking places for 4/5 cars. All linen included (weekly change). To be paid for on the spot by both apartments: deposit (762 Euro to be paid in cash), final cleaning (6 Euro/person with a minimum of 20 Euro). Small pets only allowed. Those who love nature and peace and quiet will not be let down by “PLANTAT”. The property is very shaded, stands in 95 hectares of grounds of which 32 are used for agricultural purposes with vineyards, orchards, biological vegetable patch. In the centre is the farmhouse “mas” (400 m2), built in 1830 and repeatedly restored, the most recent restoration was in 1993/94. Magnificent panoramic views over the countryside. Obviously pottery was important here in the past and still is today, with a wide range on show and for sale. The village is quite big with many fine old stone houses and being so near to Uzès, is rather sought after.
This house is in the upper part of the village and has been very simply and pleasantly decorated and furnished in an uncluttered, almost Scandinavian, style. The dining table is very good, the kitchen very simple, the sitting-room light and fresh. Both these rooms give onto the terrace.
Mid level (ground floor to terrace, 1st floor to side): large dining room/kitchen with french windows to terrace (only access); sitting room with sofa-bed, open fireplace and french windows to same terrace; hall; separate WC; nice bathroom (with separate shower). upper level: 2 twin bedrooms (one under eaves); spare bed on landing.

Set on a wooded hill, in a meander of the river Vidourle, this very fine property has been designed for holidays in considerable comfort and privacy. It is in a peaceful situation in a small group of houses in woodland, surrounded by pine-clad hills and vineyards amongst which are perched pretty little villages.
The house is light and spacious with the sitting room, mezzanine and dining area open up to the rafters, and with french windows from the living rooms and two of the bedrooms leading out onto terraces. It is well equipped, comfortably furnished and there is air-conditioning throughout: a real blessing in July and August! This is also and ideal house for an out-of-season holiday as there is full central heating and the owners have had a swimming pool water-heating system installed for the cooler seasons. The discreet caretakes live in a basement apartment and take care fo the grounds and pool.

From Florac the little, growing River Gardon drops down through marvellous, wooded, Cevenol hillsides to Alès and then to the plains and “garrigue” of the Gard. The scenery is superb and “promenades” in all directions, and by all means of locomotion, are irresistible. The village of Branoux nestles in the hillside above this valley and has fine views out; while there are even finer from the “Col de la Baraque” and its Auberge/Restaurant only 6 km further up.
This very pleasant, comfortable, practical and convenient house is outside and above the village centre, and so takes advantage of the view; thus being a delightful place in which to simply relax, or one from which to venture forth to explore the region.
