This beautifully designed house is situated in Pinos del Valle, a lovely white village in the valley of Lecrín. The village itself provides an opportunity to enjoy a quiet time away from it all in a timeless setting.
'Dos Tinajas' is so called because of its two enormous olive oil jars (tinajas), one of which adorns the entrance courtyard, the other the living area. On entering through the large outer timber doors one sees the long narrow swimming pool through an archway to the left. The interior door to the house is found off the entrance courtyard which has a small covered seating area.The main living area of the house is beautifully designed, with a large dining table at one end and a comfortable seating area with fireplace at the other. The high beamed ceiling adds to the spacious feel this large village house has. Shuttered windows open onto the pool area. The most interesting feature of the house though, is its Arab-style courtyard area with an attractive fountain positioned between the living area and the well equipped kitchen with its skylight overhead casting light into the room.
Upstairs three of the bedrooms are set around a balcony overlooking the fountain in the living area below. One double and a twin share a shower room the feature of which is the enormous shower with built-in seating! The remaining two doubles have their own ensuite bathrooms and one of them also has a lovely dressing room. All of the bedrooms have wonderfully crafted built-in wardrobes. Stairs from the landing area lead up to a roof terrace with stunning views across the valley. The property has been beautifully restored with a great deal of attention paid to detail and comfort, and would make a delightful base for a large family or group of friends.

This charming, spacious village house is hidden away off a quiet narrow street in the village of Pinos del Valle. Beautifully renovated by its English owners, it provides very comfortable and pleasant surroundings from which to enjoy a relaxing holiday. It also provides a good base for exploring the Alpujarras.A large timber door opens into the entrance courtyard around which the house sits. The main house sleeps a maximum of eight people, and the smaller annexe to the property located across the central courtyard can accommodate three. Both are tastefully furnished, decorated to a high standard and set on three levels. The main house benefits from a spacious high beamed kitchen/dining area, very well equipped, with doors to the small swimming pool and patio with table and seating for four. Also located on the ground floor, with access from the kitchen/dining area, is a double bedroom with ensuite shower room which has a second door to the kitchen and also provides the downstairs WC.A large staircase leads up from the kitchen to the first floor living area with small balcony overlooking the pool and enjoying views across the Alpujarras. The remainder of the bedrooms are located on the same floor; one has its own private shower room and lovely views of the mountain backdrop through its little windows, the other two (two steps down from living room), sharing a bathroom/WC.A second staircase leads to the part-covered roof terrace with table and chairs, from which you can enjoy a cool drink on a warm sunny evening. The annexe to the main house is reached via a door across the courtyard. Again it is well equipped and comfortably furnished, providing excellent accommodation for larger parties or those who would simply like to make use of the additional space. The annexe enjoys its own small roof terrace set across the courtyard from the roof terrace to the main house, which of course benefits from the same wonderful views. This is an interesting house, modern in concept but retaining many attractive old features from the original village house.
From the front door, one enters the living room from where double doors open onto the terrace and swimming pool area. The pool is shared with the owners when they are in residence but it is essentially private for much of the time.
Stairs lead up to the first floor landing area off which is a modern shower room/WC with frosted brick glass wall, opposite which are stairs leading up to the double bedroom with iron and brass bed and beamed ceiling. From here, double doors open onto a small balcony from where there are views over the village roof tops and the mountains, and down onto the pool area below. Off the first floor landing area there is a dining room from where steps lead to the compact, well fitted kitchen.
This house is ideal for a couple who seek olde-world charm in a traditional Spanish atmosphere, but with modern conveniences and design features too.
